TZADDI is the 18th letter of the Hebrew language associated with the
righteousness of God Himself. The clear message throughout scripture is that God alone
is righteous and man has no ability to obey or serve God acceptably on his
own. What man can offer the Almighty alone is humility. "Humble thyself in the
sight of the L-rd" and he shall lift you up"( I Pet 5:6) The shape of the
Tzaddi is that of a man on bended knee with arms raised humbling himself under
the almighty hand of God. This humble posture towards God bring him into
favor with the Almighty. This qualifies him for the service of God and reception
in the world to come."Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness" Psalm
119:142)
This letter is one of the five letters with a final form representing the eternal state of the believer in the world to come. Because of God's righteousness, He alone can atone for sin and offer salvation through His Son. The seal of God is when one receives the sacrifice of His Son for atonement and becomes a recipient of God's own righteousness. "For He made him to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in HIM" ( II Cor 5:21) All the nations are joined to the union (The communion cup, Israel's commonwealth) through their Covenant and become a spiritual partaker with His people through His Jewish Messiah. |
