As the Priest, Yahshua was born after the order of Melchizedek. "So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a priest but he that said unto him Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee... thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek" (Heb. 5:5)

His Title as Priest is The Branch, that would come forth out of dry ground, from David's loins that will reign down righteousness and prosperity. (Jer. 23:5-6). The Lamb of God who offered His blood on the mercy seat was brought to the slaughter. He is presently ministering on our behalf as our faithful High Priest (Heb. 2:17-18). He died and was buried to fulfill the Feast of First Fruits in the earth. "For now is Christ risen from the dead and became the first fruits of them that slept. For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah shall all be made alive"(I Cor. 15:22) He is the first begotten of the dead which will proceed those who will arise from the grave at His coming and those alive who will be fashioned unto His likeness.

He is "that which is" the Priest who ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him.
