LAMED is the 12th letter in the Hebrew language representing teaching and
learning. It is taller, towering over all others representing the priority of
the study of Torah. The highest form of worship is to study and learn the holy
scriptures. As a man applies himself to rightly divine the word of truth, the
Spirit of the living God will shed light and illuminate the revelations found
in the Word. To transmit spiritual reality is the highest calling only
attained through study. Avodah means to pour into, and is used in the scriptures
in reference to study..
The numerical value of lamed is 12 representing authority and government.
The head of Israel and the Church are the Tribes and Apostles both equaling 12
respectively. God is constantly working behind the scenes revealing
Himself to the man who desires to know Him through His Word.
