Messiah did not become a king but was 'Born the King'. Genesis opens with His kingship and Kingdom saying, that He .."created the heavens and the earth". (Gen. 1:1) His Messianic Title for The King is 'Shiloh'. Besides being an actual location in Israel, it is another Title for the Messiah. The root meaning of Shiloh is Shlah, meaning tranquility safety, and contentment.

The tribal rule promised by Jacob over his sons was that Judah would reign until Shiloh comes (Gen. 49:10). The executive power of the lawgiver would be until Shiloh arrive and..... 'unto him shall the gathering be'. As a lion, He will rule and ultimately the Messianic rule would be Messiah Himself who would sit upon Messiahs Throne forever. (Luke 1:30, Mark 11, Isa. 9:7, II Samuel 7:14) The nations would gather and seek the "root of Jesse". Non Jews would come to trust in Israel's Messiah which the scriptures declared from the beginning . (Isa. 11:10) He proclaimed who He was right from the beginning of His ministry. "Pilate therefore said unto him" Art thou a King then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a King. To this end I was born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice".

Rev 4:1 states that he is the "prince of the Kings of the earth" soon to inherit His Davidic dynasty in the eternal New Jerusalem" (Psalms 2,Rev 22:16 )

As the king He is "that which is to come" and will restore all things back to the original order, before mankind sinned, or Satan rebelled in the courts of heaven. He is the "King of Kings".
