The Name (GIMEL)

GIMEL is the third letter of the Hebrew langauge representing God's lovingkindness and the culmination of things that have been nourished until completely ripe. The fulness of His goodness is seen in the redemptive plan of God.

In the beginning of Geneis, God shall provide Himself a Lamb. Instead of Isaac as the sacrifice, The Lamb in the bush was the atonement "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29). We can only offer up to God the sacrifice of His Son, who was the free will offering that alone will guarantee our name being written in the "Lambs book of Life." "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." But what does it mean to call upon His Name?

It is a recognition of His character, His nature, His goodness, His Holiness, all wrapped up in his covenantal Name. The eternal law of God is according to His Name. "Thou hast magnified thy Word according to all Thy Name." Psalm 138:3.

Praise Your Name
